In high school I enjoyed playing sports like basketball, volley ball and tennis but I hated sports that required a lot of running like football, soccer and baseball. Weird, I know! However, this all has changed since my one and only boy has started to play soccer. I have officially became the biggest soccer fan. When at a game, you will see me doing two things....the first one is cheering (or yelling) when my son is playing and running back and forth and the second one...taking pictures of him and his teammates.
Noel started playing soccer when he was 3 1/2 years old. He had played basketball which he loved and Tball which he thought was boring but it was something about soccer that sparked a passion and love for the game in him. He started playing soccer in Litchfield Park in a coed team. He was only 4 but seemed to enjoy it. He was the only kid scoring for our team and luckily always helped us win. He then played in Buckeye. Again this little guy kept making goal after goal. It was there that the coach recommended him to the Sereno Club Team. After one day of trying out, Noel was invited to play. He had a great year and learned to play one position instead of all like he used to in recreational soccer. He faced many challenges when playing with teams that were 2 years older than him. So it may not sound like a big deal, but for a 6 year old to play with 8 and 9 year olds who looked liked giants, it was a big deal.
When Noel turned 7 he was scouted by three other club teams. After doing some research, we decided to go with the Roadrunners. Again he was invited to play with teammates that were 2 years older than him but the coach felt he needed to be there so we put our trust in him. Joining the Roudrunners has been amazing. He was able to travel out of town and state for different tournaments which they have won. They also won every single game against other teams in town. The Roadrunners were undefeated! These kids are very talented and passionate about soccer. They give it their all when on the field and push themselves to limits unimaginable.
I was thrilled when I was hired to take their pictures. Meet these amazing soccer players!
